Experienced Sales and Service Staff

At Main Line Cycles, bikes aren’t just a way for us to make a living – they’re a way of life. We all have different focuses and riding styles, but what unites us is a passion for two wheels and getting there under our own power. Unmatched service is at the core of our ethos: our aim is to help you achieve and surpass your goals in cycling, whether it’s a first-place finish, your first all-day charity ride, or just keeping your favorite old ride rolling.

Dan Goldberg Dan

Dan has been an avid cyclist forever. As a teenager, he first toured New Hampshire’s White Mountains, followed by an East Coast ride from Virginia to Connecticut. His touring highlight was a 1979 ride across the United States. More recently, Dan has cycled Belgium’s Flanders region, the countryside of Ireland and Quebec. “There’s no better way to experience a country and its people – be it our own USA or a foreign land – than on a bike”, Dan says.

Dan can be seen regularly riding the Schuylkill River Trail, the backroads of Chester and Montgomery counties, as well local charity rides.

Brandon FormanesBrandon

In 2009 Brandon picked up a road bike for the first time and fell in love with the ease and speed of smooth tarmac and a steady tailwind. After learning some basic wrenching at Neighborhood Bike Works, Brandon came to Main Line Cycles looking to further his skills as a mechanic, but found a love for helping introduce people to cycling in the process. Brandon has competed in various Sprint Distance Triathlons, and has a deep appreciation for long charity rides. The ‘little, big guy’ has an opinion on almost everything bike related, and has an unhealthy obsession bikes with skinny tires. After 6 years of working in local shops, and non profits, Brandon’s return to Main Line Cycles comes with an excitement to help with any request, big or small!

John has been riding and repairing bikes since he was a teenager. He is a long time bicycle commuter that loves to ride around the area pointing his bike at hills. After retirement John decided that he would love to work in a bike shop. Prior to joining the Main Line Cycles team, John worked at Performance Bike in Paoli for just over one year as a sales associate and bike tuner.

Ride & Events

cropped-istock_000015859900medium.jpgCheck this page often for updated listings of all types of cycling events in and around our area. You will need a helmet, an appropriate bike (unless you make arrangements with us beforehand to borrow one of our demo bikes), and a little cash in case we stop. Please call beforehand to see if we’re still riding if the weather looks threatening. We’ll see you out there — and have fun!

Our Weekly Group Rides

Join us on one of these fun rides. Whether you are new to cycling or an old pro, there is a ride that’s right for you. Whichever ride you join, please check our facebook page for up-to-minute details. You can also call us the night before to see if the ride is going or cancelled.

Sunday Bagel Ride

Come join us for a moderately paced 14 mph road ride led by Dan.  Meander through the Main Line and Chester County, weave through neighborhoods and conquer the rolling hills.  All are welcome – no one will be left behind. Plan to do about 25-35 miles in 2 hours.  Please RSVP here.

Every Sunday, meet here at the shop at 10:00 am.  Back by noon.  Ride will go if it is 50 degrees and up.  Rain cancels, wet roads do not.

Saturday “Brisk” Road Ride

Feel like picking up the pace a little?  A faster road ride that averages 17+mph over a rolling 35-50 mile route.  Head towards Malvern on quiet country roads, come back through Conshohocken and test your legs on the hills of Gladwynne.

Every Saturday, meet here at 8:00am (9AM in Winter). Wheels out at 8:05, back 11/11:30.  Nearly year-round (hasn’t ever been cold enough not to ride).  Rain cancels, wet roads do not. Led by Jeff Diacik and Derek Barnes.
